For myself, I’d have to guess that about…1 out of 5 or 6 are thread killers. Not counting threads I started that never got a responce. (I’m still waiting to find out what that song from the end of Raid on Entebbe was)
Thankfully, at least couple of the threads I’ve snuffed out died because I answered the question.
The rest died just because…I’m a terrible poster and no board will have me, I guess.

I am so good I can tell when I am going to kill a thread. The past couple of weeks I have stated that my post will kill threads and sure enough, they died painful deaths. Why, I would bet that if no one else replys to this thread, I killed another. 
I think I still have some kind of record. My first thread starter generated 149 responses, number 2 crawled to a slow death with 0 responses.
I’ve slaughtered quite a few.
I killed 29 of 232 threads - that’s 12.5%. However, one of my posts was just a few minutes ago, so I’m still hopeful.
I’m sure the reason is that my responses are so brilliant that no one would want to follow me.
Maybe I can kill one on my first post…
We “there’s gotta be more to say about this” type posters will have to step forward and confess our sins.
I counted over the last three months. I’m averaging about 25% kills. But it’s only because I care about the threads. Except this one.
I think I killed the Fenris Shave thread. But thats about it. So 1 for 40 ain’t bad. Wait, am I at 40 yet? Beh, probably. Dammit, I’m gonna be a newbie forever!

One can figure out how many black marks are on your permanent record of SDMB opprobrium by using search, on your name, anywhere in the document, for, say, the last three months.
I’m happy to say that I’ve never killed a thread (that I haven’t posted to).

I think I have one that deserves some kind of noteriety. I started a thread a while back about Mcdonalds and global domintation, went quite nicely and I was not the one to kill it. By some strange coincidence, it made it up to Threadspotting long after it was dead so I put in one last comment on how cool it was that I made it into threadspotting. Then, instant deadness, not a single reply.
I don’t know, and besides it wasn’t my fault!
Two possible reasons for no response: 1) Nobody gives a damn; 2) The post was so complete and well stated that there is nothing more to say.
I don’t like 1) for some reason so I’ll go for 2). The thing that puzzles me, though, is why nobody responds with a Well Done!, Bravo!, Wish I’d said that! or the like.
I have one smashingly erudite post hanging right now. I wish someone would either add a post or it would hurry up and get three pages down.

I suppose 500 posts or so really is the upper limit before it becomes too much of a chore to actually count all the threads you’ve killed.

36 of 487 if people leave this alone.
On one page of threads I had killed 6 of the 25 threads displayed.
2 in this forum alone. And that is just today… sheesh:rolleyes:
