How many times do you wear stuff, between washings?

There’s a thread in GQ (I think) about the purpose of underwear. One of the reasons is that it lets you wear pants multiple times before washing. This surprised me since I personally don’t do this. Everything I wear is clean everyday (except weekends, which don’t count).

So how often do you wear clothes before washing them?

i have like a “complusive washing disorder” or something

i cant stand wearing anything more then once
even if i put on a shirt then 2 seconds later change shirts, i wash the previous one
not to mention i have virtually no clothes, so i do laundry every other day
i feel sorry for my parents water bill
:stuck_out_tongue:

1 wear, 1 wash.

'cept on weekends, when I try not to wear anything…

I wear jeans for a week if I don’t do anything dirty, usually I only wear them to work and take them off when I get home so I don’t have a problem with it. Shirts is the same but I will only wear them twice. T-shirts I will wear them for a few days on the weekends and in the evening and wash them after a few days. No one has ever told me I stink or anything like that.

Though that might explain why people avoid me and it’s not my personallity like I thought!

I usually wear t-shirts under shirts. So, if only wearing it to work, and not sweating or going to bars (smoke!) with it on, I will wear a shirt 2 times usually before washing. Jeans and dockers can usually do 2-3 wears before a wash.

Shirts I’ll wear once, unless they have ABSOLUTLY NO odor, then maybe twice.
Jeans I’ll wear a lot of times, maybe 5. I like my jeans broken in, and thats the way to do it.
Work pants I’ll wear twice.
I have to go to laundromat to do it, so I hate doing laundry. If it was in my house I’d be doing a wash everyday.

I wear jeans only on the weekends. I’ll wear each pair about 4 - 5 times between washes, as long as they have no spills/stains/odors. I’m rarely in them more than 5 hours anyway.

I only wear tops/shirts once maybe twice. Pants and skirts that have to be dry-cleaned I wear three times, again provided there’re no spills/stains/odors.

I only wear underwear once before they’re in the dirty clothes hamper.

Underwear, socks, shirts - once.

Pants - 3-4 days unless I’ve spilled coffee on them again… sometimes 5-6 days if these days are a weekend and I’m working outside or something (I’m not gonna waste my nice clean jeans on a sweaty outside day - save them for Monday morning).

Once: Underwear, socks, T-shirts
2-3 Times: Bras (otherwise the elastic just wears out too damn quick), and pyjamas
4-5 Times (or until they get smelly or I dribble something on them): long-sleeved shirts (always worn over a T-shirt) and Jeans

Shirts, 2 or 3 times (I don’t have many and I hate doing laundry). Jeans, maybe 6 or 7 times (Same). Underwear only once though.

If I had my own washing machine I would wear shirts once, though I probably still would wear jeans for a longer period of time - Washing them too often ruins jeans (well, not ruins them, but makes them less comfortable IMO)

Pants last a week, maybe more, maybe less. The pants I wear at work in which I do nothing but sit don’t get dirty quickly, so they last a bit longer.

Shirts: usually once, though if I’m getting really lazy about doing laundry I may try to find one that doesn’t smell at all and give it a second go.

Everything else only gets worn once.

What’s this “wash” thing you people do?
