I saw them once at the 9.30 Club in DC, about the perfect venue for them. It was a couple of years ago, and I regret not having seen them before, when Shane was more capable.
I don’t think it is a lack of respect for the fans, he’s just a drunk who can’t control himself. If you go to see Shane, you know what you are getting. That doesn’t alter that Shane’s complete decline might be a very good reason not to see them, but accusing him of disrespecting the fans isn’t quite there. It’s like watching Ali at the end of his career, when the phenomenal gifts had deserted him for medical reasons.
