How many totally dud gifts did you receive for Christmas this year?
I’m going with none.
Although there’s a couple of iffy ones–if the question was aimed at gifts that were not complete successes, I’d have a different answer.
(I got two handcrafted niddy-noddys, like so. Due to my craftsman’s inexperience with the object in question, I couldn’t remove my first skein the way I wanted to, and after the unwrapping frenzy was over, it was operated on. And, well, my parents gave me a gift certificate for a pair of hiking boots–not especially thrilling, but useful. And if we go hiking someplace interesting, I’ll call them a success as a gift).
