None came by my apartment, but I rather expected that–my complex is relatively secure, and a lot of it consists of corporate apartments (so there are relatively few kids, and people move enough that none of us know each other very well). We put up a little haunted house at the office for the employees’ kids, though, and had more than a dozen come through there. It was fun.
Not many. 10? Usually we have 30 or so. Last year, 3 bags of candy was perfect. This year we went through a little over one.
It was kind of sad. I have no desire to eat all of this candy (Some, yes, of course). But I guess I’ll be forced to.
Lots of comic book characters this year (Me: “What was he dressed up as?” Girlfriend: “I dunno. Batman or something.” Me: “That was Venom. You know, archenemy of Spiderman? Geesh!”)
We had about 10 kids or so in groups of 2 or 3. The really small kids were so adorable! They were just watching their older siblings and chiming in once they figured out what to say.
One kid gave me Mary Kay booklets. I thought that was just the tiniest bit tacky. “Here, kids, advertise while you’re out! Next year, you can wear sandwich boards with our phone number on them! More sales, more Christmas presents!”

I know the feeling…one little Harry Potter came through and asked our vampire, Dale, where “the Dragonball Z guy” (one of the kids dressed as Goku) went. Dale had no clue, but I showed him the exit “Goku” took. That was the closest we had to a comic book character (though I’m sure he only knew it through Cartoon Network, and has never seen the manga).
