How many trips to the Titanic did the Titan make? apologies for another thread about this craft

I’m getting mixed information and its a bit obfuscated. I know it made several ‘test’ dives at various depths and attempted to go to the Titanic a few times that were aborted. But I’m not getting good information on how many times it actually successfully made the trip to the Titanic.

One source said it was once a year thing, this last being the third time. Others have said ‘multiple’ trips, and I was under the impression that there were 5 scheduled for this year where 4 were canceled for weather etc.

So…Simply, How many successful trips to the Titanic did it make. And as a bonus, is there any information on how many other trips it made to that depth or greater (not at the Titanic site)?

According to USA Today, OceanGate made its first trip in 2021.

By January 2023, OceanGate was saying that it had taken about 60 customers and 15-20 researchers down to Titanic.

Note that the article says that on at least one trip, they didn’t find Titanic at all.

But another article says that they took down about 100 overall in the summer of 2021.

If we say about 100 people, that’s around 20 trips, but I can’t find a definite number. Might be a bit more?

20 trips to the titanic seems inordinately large. I know they only had 5 planned this year, and this last one was the only one that wasn’t aborted before reaching depth.
According to your link the first trip to the Titanic was July 2021. So they had to do all of those trips in the last half of 2021 and 2022. And this site says ‘at least 28 last year’ visited which means 6 dives to the titanic in 2022. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/21/us/oceangate-expeditions-submersible-titanic/index.html

I suspect the 20 you suggest for dives involved a high number that were called off for whatever reason and not actually successful in reaching the titanic.

I have some recollection of deep sea submersible hulls having a lifetime due to stress from pressure changes, that each trip cause more damage the integrity of the hull.

Well, a team has managed to recover the Titan and return it to land for investigation:

I’ve since found a video that stated 6 successful dives to titanic in 2021 and 7 in 2022. then the ill fated 1 in 2023

I’ve found an article that confirms those numbers: 13 successful dives that reached Titanic, out of a total of 90 attempts, for a success rate of 14%.
