How many Yeehaw Junction billboards on the Florida turnpike?

Along the Florida turnpike there are billboards for Yeehaw Junction, heading northbound. The signs say guess the correct number of Yeehaw Junction billboards and win a prize.

I’m curious, how many are there? Was I supposed to count the ones that I saw in the southbound lanes, that face the opposite direction? Do I count the first one that says that I should count them?

I don’t know the answer to “how many?”, but I’d sure like to know why?!? I mean, what’s Yeehaw Junction up to now, 18 people? I admit I haven’t been through on 192 for a little over a year now, but has it been having a huge growth boom or something? Last time I was through, it was a mom-n-pop, a couple of houses, and an intersection with a blinking light. Sneeze on your way through and you miss it. Huh?

I assume Yeehaw’s cash inflow is primarily from being a stop on the way to Disney. Which now that I think about it, is even stranger than I originally thought because it’s South of Orlando, so would only be a stop for traffic from South Florida.

I don’t think there’s a single Yeehaw Junction sign on the Turnpike from I-75 down to Kissimmee, they must all reside below that.

The Yeehaw junction signs start a little after Coconut Creek and end just before the I-95 intersection at Jupiter… last time I counted 7 (not including southbound), and apparently I was wrong… I’ve heard the prize is 1/2 off a movie ticket, but the source is dubious.

I was just on the turnpike this week, and happened to notice the first sign. The ‘prize’ is a discount on something, I think maybe it was tickets to Disneyland. And in answer to the OP’s question about counting the first one, the answer is yes. The first sign says, in smaller letters at the bottom, “This is #1.” I don’t know what the total number of signs is, as I’ve never taken the turnpike that far north.
