How much are these historical documents worth?

Signed documents from the President after the war of 1812 awarding my co-workers great-great-great grandfather granting him land for serving in the war of 1812.

There is another one from the land registrar signed by the President at the time acknowledging his purchase of a large chunk of property.

Are they even worth anything?

The presidents were Van Buren and Franklin Pierce. Thanks!

They are probably worth something. My dad found some pay documents for a cival war soldier in a house he bought a few years ago. After a lot of searching, I found another document like them, but in worse condition, valued at $80 on an antique website. Yours are older and have a presidential signature, surely they’re worth something.

Land Grants are among the more plentiful documents “signed” by Presidents. Most were probably signed by a Secretary, and most can be bought with some patience for anywhere from $50-100 US.

Most document dealers try to get between $250 and $500 for them, but they don’t usually bring that in an auction.
