Go to eBay, find similar computers that sold within the last 30 days and find out how much they sold for.

Pricewatch has a similar system with less RAM and plus a DVD burner for 715$. Lose a 100$ in the differences and its worth maybe 600$, but since its a friend and you don’t need it (I’m assuming), I’d go more like 500 or 550.

This exact computer is listed (not in stock) at overstock.com for $780, reconditioned and with some sort of warenty. So $500 or so would be a good ‘friend price’, especially when you look at similarly powered systems.
