How much do DJs get paid?

I’m talking about a “superstar” DJ (eg Paul van Dyk, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, etc) at a one-night party. How much do they get paid?

Why don’t we try for Don Imus (since I can pull up some media reports for him)?
Imus pulls in about $10 Million on his radio show each year, plus an additional $1.5 M for the rights to simulcast it on MSNBC on cable. And he has some books out that add to the kitty, too.
How much would such a person charge for your birthday party? Someone might call the DJ’s agent and ask what the current charge is for personal appearances.
If it’s far away from his NYC homebase you’ll need to factor in airfare and a good hotel with meals, too.

Paul Oakenfold has made up to $25,000 for a night, although he plainly doesn’t deserve it as his mixing sucks and he’s been coming into the booth high as a kite for the last couple of years.

John Digweed and Sasha, who are the most popular non-commercial DJs, can get up to $15,000 for a night.

It’s all about the size of the club. Twilo and Space Ibiza mean big bucks (take out a mortage if you’re going to Ibiza clubs), but smaller, more intimate venues won’t produce the crowd to pay the DJ higher figures.
