I’m watching some authors discuss the relative timidity of the modern labor movement, and I wonder whether their leadership is experiencing the same earnings distortions taking place in corporations, the widening of income between top and bottom despite the entire enterprise losing ground.

Well, according to Teamsters for a Democratic Union, James Hoffa made over $400,000 in 2008; six other Teamster officers received over $300,000 in total compensation, and 50 more received over $200,000. A total of 98 officers received salaries over $150, 000, and over 400 officers received salaries in excess of $100,000.
No wonder they side with management.
