 Mine runs about $500. I think I’ll stay out here in the sticks (not that that was ever in question).
I pay about $600 a year. And I haven’t even built anything on my property yet! It’s just trees and chipmunks.
$2172/yr. on a 2800 sq. ft house valued at $375k in suburban Phoenix

Hello from New Jersey, land of humungous property taxes!
I pay about $22,000 a year in property taxes.
Our real esate taxes are nuts. A lot of our property taxes go to education, both directly to the local school system, and to a state-wide pool. Our public schools are pretty good. Friends who live in California, land of tiny property taxes, tell me they wish their schools were as good as ours.
House is ~1750 square feet on maybe 1/6 acre; paid $120,000. $1100 in taxes in 2003.
Cost of living here is pretty cheap, but it’s a tough town to find a good, long-term job (so it’s a good thing I’ve got one…). It’s a college town, but pretty far off the beaten track. Property values seem to be steadily increasing, so I imagine the taxes will rise over time too. Don’t quite know what to expect…
