Thanks for all the responses. I think I will change the number, or have the character transport them in another way.

Why the torsos?
Heads or hands would also provide proof of death and identity, make better trophies, and are smaller and lighter.
Transplant organs would best be removed from the torso and packed in coolers as soon as possible.
If your character is planning to serve man, gutting and other butchering are best done quickly. You really don’t want the contents of the stomach or intestines getting onto the meat.
Headless and limbless torsos being kept alive by means of magic or weird science are really best transported carefully in a vehicle specially prepared for the job.
Hands don’t prove nuthin. “Lefty” will tell youse dat.
Because “8 Heads In A Duffel Bag” has already been done but “Seven Torsos In A Packing Crate” hasn’t.
