Under $3 (just), for a beer or wine or a shot+mixer. Cape Town.
Come to DC and you can find out.
A beer is usually $3, but mixed drinks usually start at $6 and up.
Depends. If you exclude dollar draft specials, beers are $3-5.50. Mixed drinks, though, depend a lot on where you go. I can get well drinks for probably around $5-6.50 at a lot of places, but more and more around here are charging 7-8 and up for simple mixed drinks.
Well, in the year and a half I’ve lived in this town, I’ve never been to either of the ‘local’ bars (local being walking-distance). But sometimes we’ll go to dinner at a place like Outback and order a drink. In those cases, the drinks usually run $6.00-$7.00, a glass of house wine, about $5.00.
I voted on the basis of beer prices, which are usually $5-$7 for a draft pint of a decent beer. I would assume mixed drinks are probably a little bit more, but I don’t drink a lot of mixed drinks when I’m out.
I answered with what I would typically order in the establishment that I would buy it. A Miller Lite beer. About $2.
But if I ordering a double Crown Royal, in a restaurant, it would be about $7.
That’s what I was going to say - at my usual hang out, a pint is $7.00 - which really means $9 with tip, or $10 if it’s one of the waitresses I like. This place has great waitresses - attractive and intelligent - the perfect combination. Ya gotta love a person who’s doing a double major in French and Religion, with a minor in History, can talk politics, and is gorgeous to boot.
Phoenix, AZ. Most of the bars I go to are neighborhood bars in search of a neighborhood. $3-5 for a beer. Usually closer to $3, cocktails usually start at $4.
Ouch!
Are you talking about beer?
Here in Padova nice wine comes in around 3.50 euros, aperitifs like Spritz (Aperol/Campari, prosecco and soda)around 3 euro. Plain prosecco “on tap” can be even cheaper, say 2 euros in neighbourhood bars but more in the centre.
I don’t know about beer as I rarely drink it here, but I think it’d be a bit more, maybe 4 euros.
I chose the “varies too much” option. Thinking about only my regular neighborhood spots here in Chicago and only regular prices, not specials, I can’t recall paying less than $5 or more than $14.
I don’t go to bars, and most of the restaurants around here sell the typical macros. I don’t usually buy those either, but I want to say they usually run around $2.25.
I have no idea how much mixed drinks are.
I had to go off beer prices because that is usually what I drink. Here in St. Louis you are hard-pressed to find beer that costs more than $5 unless you are at a sporting event or other similar fair/outdoor event etc or you are getting something imported, and even then most imports at most bars I have been to are not more than $5. Most of the time a domestic bottle is about $3 give or take a buck. Some places will charge more some less.
Mixed drinks I am not sure of because I don’t drink them often. I think those start around $5 though often, sometimes $4. I went to a vodka bar and almost all the drinks there were $10 or more. The restaurant I was at last night features many martinis that are all $8+. It just depends on the establishment moreso for liquor than beer prices I think.
In medium-sized town in South Carolina. Beers are around $3, but I think cocktails are more.
In a college town. Craft beers are $4-5, macros are $2-3. Well cocktails are probably $3-5 and fancy cocktails with fancy liquors can probably go up to $10.
Maastricht, Dutch town of 100 k inhabitants.
Prices downtown are about
2,50 euros (3,20 USD) for standard draft beer
3,50 for a glass of wine (5 usd)
8 euro for a mixed drink (10 usd)
I have discovered that I do in fact like a drink now and again, but I’m too damn cheap to buy the stuff myself!
Been to my local this evening (in a suburb of Nottingham, UK) and can report that a pint (568ml/20 fluid ounces) of beer or cider costs anywhere from £2.20 to £2.80 ($3.41 to $4.34) and a double whisky (50ml) is £3.20 ($4.96).
Happy hour domestic beers 2.50 a bottle or draft. Not so happy, 3 1/2 bucks and up. Dearborn Hgts, Mi.
I don’t get out enough to have an accurate number but prices at the bar we had our Christmas party at last week were $7+ (and $3 for a coke!) In Toronto.
