How much is a drink where you live?

At a typical bar/restaurant/nightclub where you live, what would you say is the average price for 1 drink? Nevermind happy hour or other specials, nevermind what you would tip, nevermind server comps, I’m interested in the actual charged price of 1 drink?

For these purposes:

Drink = alcoholic beverage.

1 drink = 1 beer, 1 glass of wine, or 1 cocktail.

So how much and where do you live?

In DC it’s generally about $8.00 a drink.

I put $5 - $7 here in Ottawa.

3-5 and I live in Bumfuck, Minnesota.

I usually accompany folks who pick up the tab at bars, so it wasn’t until I went to a bar by myself for the first time this week that I realized drinks are freaking expensive. I thought $9 for a six pack of bottles at the store was expensive, but both a beer and a Captain and Coke were $4 and change. And apparently that’s on the low end. Damn.

Depends here in Firenze…**Savoy ** Hotel12 euroes Friends Irish Pub 5 euroes.

The bars I go to in west Hollywood usually charge 6. But at the trendier bars like the Abbey the same drink can be 14.

I don’t honestly pay a lot of attention, but if I think really hard I seem to recall a pint in my favorite pub being $3.50, so I went with that.

The places I regularly drink, beers are $5 or $6 and mixed drinks are between $6 and $9.

I’ve been to places here in NYC where a drink is $12 to $18. Luckily, I’m not a very classy dame, so I don’t have to go to those kinds of places often.

A beer would run from 4 to 9 USD, and a mixed drink (4cl) 6 to 10. Göteborg, Sweden.

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned this was in Phoenix, AZ.

I love in a mid-sized city in the south and it varies, depending on whether you’re ordering a beer or mixed drink. I’d say for a beer, about $3 is average, and for a mixed drink $5-$7.

Live in a small city and it’s $3-$5 for a beer (depending on whether you get macrobrew pilsner like Bud/Miller/Coors or a craft/microbrew), and $5-$6 for a well drink.

I said $5-$7, but it really depends on what neighborhood you’re in and what type of establishment.

I’m in Chicago.

I can’t remember the last time I bought a mixed drink, but average price for a beer here seems to be $3.50 in Omaha, NE

L.A. - Regularly pay $12-15 for a mixed or wine. We don’t go real high-end, usually, more high-middle (chains - like Roy’s, Flemings).

Depending on the bar and night, between $1 and $7 for a regular bottle of beer and about $2-$10 for mixed drinks.

Thinking of the fly downtown restaurants in this midwestern college town… a mixed drink would be $4 - $8.

At my favorite bar I get a great discount and vodka redbull doubles run me about $3 but for the rest of the town it will run about $6. A typical round of 4 drinks will run $20-25 so I went with the $3-5 range but it really varies more then that. Lucky none of the bars have a cover or I’d be pissed about the expensive drinks.

Round these parts, someone asking a question like that picks up the tab. So. . .are you paying?
