holy shit! thats way more than I would have possibly imagined. I ‘KNOW’ the reason we’re dismantling their regime is because they are ‘evil’…but the 2,800 BILLION in oil wouldn’t hurt either

There is no oil shortage. US companies can buy all the oil they want to. Iraq selling or not selling to US companies has no effect, other than symbolic and political.
Now if we can get them a new government and have it “fund” a US peacekeeping force, then the US gains something.
