the concept of buying vanity ads came up.
I think several of us had been pondering it on our own. My question is, how much money do you want annually to prevent the subscription fees from happening?
If we can manage to get together $800-$1200 to buy an ad every few months, will it help in any significant way?
This was suggested by someone last time the subject of donations came up, and I put it into my comment when I pre-registed, but what about providing SDMB-specific t-shirts or whatever to buy? I don’t know if enough people would be interested to make it feasible, but why not do a survey similar to what’s being done for subscription fees? If enough people sign up, then get them made up (and make it a binding order when folks sign up).
