Like others have said it depends on what you call heavy. For ages I have done 10%; not all to my church but across several charities I believe in. Put me over 100k again (fat chance) and I would probably up that or even double it; living my life doesn’t cost that heavy. As for hierarchy; that 10% comes first before anything else. Yeah; its not for everyone and at times has felt dumb even to me. But its always worked and I don’t have plans on changing that. Its my way of admitting to myself that a lot of folks out there have major issues I can’t even imagine and I should be part of the answer even if it means putting some things off for myself for a while.
