How much of Titanic was filmed at the ship?

On Saturday, my wife and I celabrated our first anniversary by “recreating” our first date. We had dinner at the same restaurant, and watched the same movie - Titanic (albeit at home and not in the theatre).

We enjoyed the movie, not having seen it is about 4 years, but I was wondering about the underwater shots of the wreakage. I know that some of the shots of the boat are real, but which ones? What about the shots “inside” the boat and the staterooms? Are any of them just a model?

Well, I can’t give you a shot-by-shot analysis, but a pretty good guideline:

Basically, any shot where you see the sub/camera manuvering around from the exterior is not at the real site. They didn’t have two cameras down there, you know? So only the shots that look like you’re actually looking through the lens of the underwater camera are real, and maybe not all of those.
