btw, ambushed, you allude to research documenting the deleterious effect of porn on adults: “exposure to hard-core porn does cause harm, that’s a scientific fact” and I really would appreciate the references for that. I’d really like to know what kind of hard-core porn in what kind of exposure and what kind of harm. Again, as a parent, my bias is to be concerned about exposure to misogynistic, violent, and/or degrading pornography (without defining all porn as any of the above, but my own personal standards) unless proven safe but I am at a loss for having any evidence to back up that view short of the documented effect of violent images per se. If you have evidence to back up my concern I would appreciate your sharing it.
And also btw, no need for mods here, but could you please keep the rhetoric in GD rather than Pit mode? There have been some interesting and divergent POVs made here and I feel I have learned some from posters with opionons very different than my own. I’d hate to see it devolve into a pissing match.
