OK, the computer-clap, not the “she’s too young and you’re bad parents” variety. I went to one of the online forums where they help with such things, they had me run various diagnostics, and cleared things out using ComboFix (plus a bunch of other things to make sure it was really clean). Have added a different firewall, and a separate spyware monitor (I think I had thought AVG covered that as well), and also added adblock in case the malware came from an ad… and we’re back in service.
