You sell yourself short. You’re memorable precisely because you’re one of the board’s best posters. Always informative. Never acrimonious. And I say that even though I’m fully aware of your pea soup and salmon thing, or whatever it was. 
About five grand. Not because of the place – it’d be the same price for any website. I just chafe at the idea of being beholden to anybody else in my private habits. Five grand sounds like it could buy a lot of lotion, though.
I honestly don’t know what to say at such a prospect. I did browse through that thread where the idea was accomplished, and I felt disappointed. I thought this board had headroom for diverging views. To get paid for not posting on the SDMB? It would be like not being able to enter your favourite cafe, but having to stand outside pressing your nose to the window peeking inside. It would be like being a dog begging at the table, desperately flexing your eyebrows sadly looking at the people around the table not noticing you. It would be like lighting matches in a snowstorm trying to keep warm. It would… bah, give me dollar so that I can go buy some matches, its spring soon anyway.
$1000 weekly or a one-time payment of crooks pinky at corner of mouth ONE MEEELLION DOLLARS!
So what I want to know is-

$500 in advance would suit me fine, but it would have to be in advance.
$500 to $1,000 a year, with a two year max, aid in advance with no sneaky tricks like Zimbabwe dollars, and membership continuing uninterrupted during my absence; when I return, I still want to be a charter member. There’s no substitute, really. Something Awful? Mostly quality discussion, but threads cycle too quickly, 80% of the members there are younger than me, and it’s a bit too male. The spinoff boards are okay, but they seem to be missing something. I could use the time and money.
I’d go for something between $5 and $5000, but I don’t know where the line is exactly. I’m sure it’s toward the lower end of that.
Let’s find out. I’ve got five bucks.

Pffft. I post in 6 other places. And I left here for over a year when my “charter” subscription lapsed. $500 would do for me just fine.
But posting against my beliefs? That would cost a lot more. (I’m easy, but I’m not cheap. )
