How naive can you get?

I know this is really going to sound like ‘blaming the victim’ here, but the part of this story I just can’t get past is the fact that it took these 4 guys five years to come to the realization that the 20 year old girl they were having sex with is not who she seems. It just doesn’t add up for me.

Maybe if it was only happening to one guy. But four guys? Wouldn’t there be a good chance at least one of them was skeptical about the whole thing? But four guys taking this long to figure it out? If anything, I can see how the circumstances allowed the predator to get away wtih it for so long- up until then they had no concrete proof they were being tricked. The level of humiliation they would potentially face by confronting the man possibly kept them from coming forward about it sooner, I guess.

I was a teenage guy. I was horny and single and lonely. But if some large black guy told me he knows this 20 year old woman who wants to have sex with me, but I have to be blindfolded the whole time and I can’t touch her, all sorts of red flags and sirens would be going off in my head. And I was hopelessly gullible in High School.

Make no mistake, what this man did to these teens is despicable. The whole thing seems to defy logic in my brain, though. Why did they decide to trust this man? What could he have possibly said/done to convince 4 teenage boys to sit naked and blindfolded while he molested them?

Wow, his biography page at WCPO just got real short.

Is there, um, something wrong with these boys? Like mentally? The article doesn’t say.

There’s gotta be something wrong in their noggins: if so, that makes this thing tragic.

If they’re of “normal” intelligence, I really don’t feel too sorry for them. Oh sure, the guy that did it should be shot, but how can someone be THAT stupid and still remember to breathe!??!?!?!

Yeah, like I said, something does NOT add up here. :dubious:

It only took them 3 years to figure it out, Give the guys some credit.
