How often do you do laundry?

How often do you do your laundry? As a male my honest answer is “not very often”

I do all my laundry on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on what else is going on.

We have two young children who like to spend a lot of time in the pool. Something is in the washer or dryer at least 5 days a week.

About once a week. There’s just two of us. I am SUPPOSED to do it faily (hahahaha), washing my sheets every day because of my dust allergies. That’s not happening. I usually wash my sheets once a month or so.

It’s why I love having a washer/dryer in the house though: can do laundry on a tuesday night at 11:30 if I so choose. I think it hasn’t even been five years since we got one now.

My wife likes to wash sheets and towels a lot more often than I do. Plus, we just got small washer and dryer in our master bedroom. I’m guessing something is going at least every other day.

Once a week, usually on Saturday or Sunday morning. I usually fold and put away that laundry on the following Saturday or Sunday morning, when I suddenly realize I’m going to need that basket.

I’m a female who lives alone, and I do my laundry every week: usually on Sunday night. That includes my towels, but my sheets only get washed once a month or so. The dog’s blankets (one on the bed and one on the couch) get washed when they start to stink, and/or if I’m planning to have visitors.

My wife does it more often than I but I actually like to do laundry so I will do it on the weekends if she hasn’t got around to it during the week. Normally the laundry is done 2-3 times a week. We don’t like to have it piled up in a giant heap. There is something very zen about an empty laundry hamper with all the clothes clean, dry and put away.

I used to be really bad about letting dirty laundry pile up and hated to do it once I finally got around to it because there would be so much piled around the filled hamper.

I found a system that really works for me. I cut out the hamper and we just put our dirty clothes in the washer. Once the washer fills up, I start it and then I only have one load to deal with and I generally put it away right away.

Now I know this wont work for everyone because a lot of people work in offices and have nice clothes that need to be separately washed. But we work construction and so all we have are crappy clothes so i don’t need to worry about our delicates.

I recommend this if you don’t separate as it it so efficient and it is nice to never run out of clean clothes as the washer will only hold a few days worth.

I was banned from laundry duty two decades ago when I put something in the dryer on the wrong setting. I’m sure my wife wouldn’t mind if I was somehow able to learn but it’s apparently a complex process that can only lead to disaster unless a female supervises each and every step. Any clothes I fold need to be refolded as well, even my own. Folding fitted bottom sheets is so awful that I am allowed to do that sometimes but the rolling eyes usually put me off.

The one time I asked for some help with the laundry, my boyfriend crammed two loads into the washer at once and none of the clothes got clean (it’s a HE machine so I do 3/4 sized loads at a time compared to an old top-loader). He can wash his own stuff, but I won’t let him wash mine anymore. :stuck_out_tongue:

I do 2 loads a week (on the same day), one of inside stuff and one of stuff I’m willing to hang outside in public view.

About twice a week in cold water, but I don’t use detergent because I’ve noticed (at least with me) that even the unscented laundry detergent still has something in it (I don’t know what) that gives me allergy-type symptoms. If I am going out on a date, (I am not married), then I will wash the clothes that I plan to wear on the date in hot water with detergent.

Since my ex moved in, I haven’t had to do much of it. He is a laundry machine, doing it what seems like twice daily. I do have to put it away, so I do hate that. He’s always been like that, washing everything in sight. I used to have to hide the Goodwill bags!

Just the two of us.
We have two laundry hampers - one for white clothes and the other for color clothing - and we do both loads on Sundays usually.

So although I voted once a week - I didn’t count the occasional mid-week loads for sheets and towels.

On the weekends, usually every 2 weeks but occasionally 1 per week or every 3 (!). I don’t have enough pants to wear for 3 weeks so I am re using them by then, but thankfully I don’t reuse my shirts, I haven’t stooped to that level yet!

I wash sheets and towels once a week and all the other stuff together usually on Mondays.

Once a week, on Tuesdays.
Usually two loads, clothes in one, sheets/towels in the other - we have a huge washer.
Sometimes only one load, sometimes it’s three.

I voted once a week because that was the closest answer, but it’s really “whenever I have to, and grudgingly then”.

I have enough clothes for 14 or more days of clean clothes, and so we do the wash every other week. Or rather, my husband does it 90% of the time because that’s just our agreement.
