Just me. I do the washing twice a week. I could let it go to once a fortnight but I prefer to have less to deal with at one time.
Frequency varies, but on average around every 5 days. I almost always cram everything into a single load (I live alone).
So few people wait til they’re running low on skivvies. That’s pretty much always the case for me. A sign that I’m lazy? That I have too many clothes? ¿Por qué no los dos?
We put a small washer and dryer in the master bedroom area, so we do pretty frequent loads throughout the week, mostly for work out clothes, etc. Laundry really never piles up, and it’s much less of a chore than a going downstairs with a big load.
Once a week, three loads in the winter and two in the summer. The only part I really find burdensome is hanging up socks, for some reason I can’t understand. I mean, pants take just as many clothespins per day worth of clothes as socks do, and shirts take more… but for some reason hanging up socks just feels like a lot more work.
Towels get washed about every other day – we seem to go through quite a lot of towels. (Between hand towels and washcloths, dish towels, etc). Clothes, once a week.
Pretty much this.
Sheets & towels weekly; one load of each. Other clothes as they build up, generally 2-3 loads a week. We have relatively small condo-sized machines. If we had the big mongo family-of-12 machines we’d get by with 1 or at most 2 loads. We own at least a couple weeks’-worth of most clothes so we rarely get down to the last clean socks or whatever.
so, how many loads and how long does that take you? :dubious:
is it just me, or is this the most boring thread ever? and yet I am posting in it.
I wait until I’m out of undies, which is also every two weeks/twice a month.
I’m a single person with more towels than showers needed, a glut of dish towels, and I just plain don’t change my sheets that often since I shower before bed. I usually wear clothes 2-3 times before they’re dirty enough to wash, and I keep them on a clothes tree in my bedroom. When I do laundry it’s like 4 loads and out.
I used to live with a guy who was also single and he showered 1-2 times a day and washed clothes constantly. He lived in my basement which was possibly the first time he had in-house laundry (in-room, to boot!) He also probably thought I was a nasty slob.
Say three times in two weeks. Top clothes are better than weekly (I work in a warehouse but hate going there dirty) but stuff like socks and underwear build up for a couple weeks. Most times we’re talking one to two loads as a “laundry” - I usually do one basket at a time rather than let it build to an all-day project.
Two people.
Often twice a day. At least 4 times a week. 3 “people” in the house.
I live with fucking primadonna/pigs.
I swear, when I slip into the great good night, they will die within a week, starving and naked, bleeding gums and open sores.
family?
It’s really only like 7-8 loads. I work in an office; I wear short sleeve button-down shirts and khakis to work, t-shirts and jeans everywhere else. Many shirts and pants might get worn twice; if it’s all basically the same thing, who’s going to notice? So it’s about 1.5 loads an item: work shirts, work pants, t-shirts, jeans, whites.
And it’s not like I have to drag it down to the river and scrub it on a washboard; it’s really not that much more effort than pushing a button and checking back on it every once in a while.
Typically once every 2-3 days.
Every couple of days. I like to keep up, so really, as soon as I think I have a load, I do it.
I go through a lot of towels and washcloths. I change the kitchen towels daily, and since I had a very hard to get rid of skin infection last year, I change all bathroom towels daily. So even though there are just two of us here, I have a load of towels every other day.
So I do laundry maybe four days a week. I’m retired, I don’t mind doing it since it’s not like I’m taking the clothes down to the stream and rubbing them on rocks, and the whole thing takes me just a couple minutes to fold and put away when I’m done.
Usually once a week. I may do more than one load if necessary.
We do laundry for the two of us every day. Usually one load, more if we have visitors staying with us or have had a dinner party.
As needed, which varies between several times in a week (summer, weeks when I change the bedding, change of season) and once every few weeks (mainly if I’m traveling, but it can be several loads).
Colors 2 or 3 times a week. Towels once a week. Whites once every two weeks. Sheets not nearly often enough.
Every weekend. While I am only responsible for my own laundry, I’m also the one who thinks to clean the kitchen towels and the couch blankets, so most weekends it’s somewhere between one and two loads, depending on how dirty the dogs got that week.
