How often do you get maid service when you stay at a hotel?

Every day, but when I’m on a business trip and in meetings all day and dinners at night they don’t have to do much. Empty the trash, fold the towels, make the bed. But I don’t mind doing it myself when staying at a house rental.

I voted “rarely”. When I’m away with work I don’t work standard working hours and often have to sleep during the day so I just leave the DND sign up as a matter of course. I’ll remove it every now and then if I specifically want the towels and bedding changed.

I want a clean room every day of my stay. I don’t like traveling and staying in hotels, but having a clean room and fresh towels every day makes it tolerable. And whether it’s me for 5 days or a different person every night, the room will be cleaned - it’s not like I’m creating more work for the staff.

I don’t really need the maid service, but unless I happen to actually be in the room and actually not want to see anybody including the best-looking man in the world, the DND sign stays inside. Coming in to fluff up the pillow is somebody’s job; if enough people refuse maid service, there will be maids out of jobs while the prices don’t get any lower for customers.
