How old are your glasses?

Mine are 13 years old. I have a pair of John Denver style wire rimmed glasses that I got in 1987 when I was in 8th grade. I have had the lenses changed twice, both times for prescription changes. I am thinking of getting a new pair of glasses, but if these turn out to be comparative newborns, I will wait until they are actually old.

Get new frames.

Mine are three years old now and starting to show the effects of aging. Stress, corrosion, delamination of earpieces. I usually get new frames with a new prescription, but if my prescription is the same I try to get new frames at least every 3-4 years. Glasses aren’t jewelry or a prop. If you have that x checked on your drivers license they are required by law to be functional when you drive: spend a few extra bucks and get some nice ones.

If you are at all like me, with no fashion sense, be sure to take your SO with you to help pick out the frames.

If you have no SO then GET NEW GLASSES.

Oh lord…parents both still lived here, so…6 years ago? Maybe? No prescription change since then either. I only wear my glasses for around 5 minutes a day, so I’m not real concerned.

Now, my CONTACTS…those are all of 2 weeks old. And I have 2 extra pairs. (Can we all tell that I hate my glasses?)

5 to 10 years old. The only reason I got new ones then is because I sat on them. I’m definitely due for an eye exam, and new glasses.

My glasses are only about two years old, but the ones before that were 10 years old when I finally broke down and went to an optometrist. I’m starting to get kind of tired of these, and the lenses are getting a little scratched up, but the odds that I’ll get new ones any time soon aren’t high.

I’d like to meet the genius who decided that eyes and teeth aren’t part of your body when it comes to health care.

10 years old, what do I win?

I really need to get en exam, but to tell the truth i never really needed them until I got my computer. Reading doesn’t bother me a bit.
