1984 Toyota 4Runner. 150K miles. And that’s the newest of my 4 cars.
'99 Saturn, but we just got my wife a brand-spanking-new 2011 Mini Cooper. She’s ass over tits in love with it. It’s cute, I’ll admit…
Joe
1983 Isuzu P’up diesel, had 181,000 miles on the odometer when I bought it 7 years ago for $700, still has 181,000 miles on the odometer. Judging from the wear on the fuel pedal, it probably has a half a million miles on it. I used to make a fifty mile commute with it, now I drive it about 40 or 50 miles per day.
'09 Subaru Outback. 63k miles
2002 Ford Escape
We just got it because our other car is a 2 door, and that won’t work well with 2 kids and one on the way.
2008 VW Jetta. Only put 10,000 miles on it.
2005 Nissan Altima with ~35,000 km on it. (About 20,000 miles.)
2008 Mazda 3 5-Door (54K Miles)
My 2002 PT Cruiser. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned, and I hope it lasts as long as I do (or vice versa).
2000 Ford Explorer Sport. I love it, but would rather have something with better gas mileage.
I had a hard time deciding which was my primary vehicle, so I went with the truck.
2002 GMC Sierra 1500, extended cab, with about 74k miles. Except for a minor ding or two, it looks and runs as good as new. I drive it frequently enough, and we use the truck anytime we go any considerable distance, especially with the family in tow.
The other family vehicle is a 2000 Chevy Astro van, with about 280,000 miles on it (second motor, though.) It was retired from my parents’ cab business, and it’s fine for tooling around town, driving a few miles to work, etc., but the a/c isn’t too great, and it needs a fuel “something-or-another” part. Also reserved for stuff like taking the dogs to the vet, driving kids to (and especially) from the water park, and so forth. I won’t put any money into it, but it’s handy sometimes.
Best thing about both vehicles? Paid for.
Just bought an '06 Explorer last fall. First used car I’ve bought since college, but the wife and I wanted to down-size our expenses for a while. Our car payment is under $150/month! Combine that with a $465 car allowance from work, and we’re banking a nice chunk every month. I’d like to get either a year-old Lincoln MKS or a new Taurus when we go back to being a two-car family, but that’ll be a year or two down the road.
Can’t vote twice…
1995 Ford Explorer with greater than 150,000 miles (odometer quit a while ago), on its last legs. It’s been a great car- hate to lose it.
2008 Prius with 46,000 miles.
At this point, my wife’s 2009 Accord is our primary vehicle, since we commute together in it almost every working day, and use it for any family outings.
‘My’ car - the one I drive when it’s just me, or just me and the kid, is a 2000 Accord that’s within one fill-up of the 200,000 mile mark.
I have a 1990 Honda Civic Wagon (bought it new), but it’s not my primary car. So I chose 2000 'cos that’s the year of my daily driver (Honda CRV).
2007 Nissan Versa hatchback with 17,500 miles on it. The low mileage is because it lived at the dealership for the first three years of its life.
2001 Audi A4 with about 150k miles.
Still every bit as beautiful as when I bought her, but showing some slight signs of age.
1998 Toyota Corolla with 31,000 miles on it. No, I am not kidding about the mileage. My grandparents had it until 2008 and put only 24,000 miles on it in 10 years. My younger brother and I shared it until a couple of years ago, now it’s mine and the mileage is going up much faster. The suspension’s rusted (it spent those 10 years sitting out in mountain winters with no garage) and it sometimes makes funny rattles and doesn’t like going above 75mph, but it does all right.
I took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil change a few months ago and the mechanic questioned me on whether the odometer was broken. He could not believe the mileage.
1996 Toyota Tercel, 318 500km on it, I got it in 1998. Vague plans to replace it sometime in the next 6 months - 1 year as it becomes less worth it to repair or maintain it, but I’m rather attached to it and would rather it just die already
2002 VW GTI - w/160,000 miles. Love that engine. Love that handling.
