I’ll let you know when it happens. At this point, I’m volunteering to babysit my nephews so I can watch Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and Invader Zim with them.
I might have quit watching cartoons, except the WB kept making Batman cartoons and Superman cartoons throughout my college years, and then South Park dropped, and Justice League came out – then I really got into Adult Swim.
I don’t watch nearly as much children’s programming as I used to, but I still keep up with the shows enough to have an overview. My kindergarten students used to love me for it. I was one of the few teachers who could name the casts of Tiny Toons, Dragon-Ball Z and Kids Next Door and not skip a beat.
I’m planning on doing it tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest, after Saturday for sure.
I’m 33 and I watched a 3 hour block of Spongebob yesterday. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Hijack: Did they change Spongebob’s voice recently? I saw a couple new episodes recently and he sounded more high-pitched and whiny - which made it even more irritating. It drove me nuts and I had to change the channel.
This is an exact quote, from me, two days ago, as I sat watching Tom & Jerry with my husband. Damn, could that cat ever scream. Awesome.
I’d watch Astroboy if they brought it back on, and Thundercats, and Voltron.
I own a lot of anime, but some of it really doesn’t count. However, my favourites are still “kid” fare - Card Captor Sakura being my all time favourite of any television show, foreign or native, ever.
I adore Bugs Bunny cartoons.
My husband loves Bob the Builder, Zooboomafoo, and T&J. I love Spongebob, Roly Poly Olie, Hamtaro, Nanalan (for sheer trippiness)… and I loved and would still watch Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant if they were on today. I’d also like to find out what happened to those ancient, five minute cartoons I used to watch early in the morning, growing up in New Brunswick, some of the first things they aired on one of our local stations was something called Tales of the Wizard of Oz (with Socrates Strawman, Rusty Tinman, and Dandy Lion), and The New Adventures of Pinocchio (“Hey, Crick!”) Also, those little Hercules cartoons, where he put on his ring and shouted “Olym-piaaaaaaaaaaa!” and had that annoying little sidekick, Newton, who repeated everything he said twice. And Toot, who could only speak with his panpipes.
And Pink Panther cartoons where he doesn’t speak! Those rocked.
I could go on…
Sometime after the age of twenty. I say that because I’m that age now and still watch kids shows. Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, WinX Club, it’s all good. Heck, as far as Sailor Moon goes, the only reason I don’t have the entire series on DVD (I have the first season) is lack of money.
