- Voila! It’s Christmas at the Wrek insane asylum.
WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Fingers and toes crossed that this comes to pass!
We started decorating today, too. We didn’t put up a tree or decorations last year, as we had a pair of teenaged hooligan kittens, and we were certain that they would get into everything.
This year, they’re adults, and have calmed down quite a bit. They are, at this moment, wide-eyed and spooky, staring at the tree in the middle of the living room, and in general disbelief at how much new and weird stuff is now on display. We’re hoping that they do not decide that they can climb the tree.
I don’t have to worry about the tree. My cats are chickens.
Baby Jesus is another thing. They like the Nativity scene.
Spoiler: they will decide that they can climb the tree.
I hope it’s decorated with neither breakables nor tinsel.

Beckdawrek, what happened to the ‘bad, bad, bad’ part of the thread title?
And agreeing with loud WOOOT! that Son-of-a-wrek may be able to come home for Christmas.
No ornaments on the tree yet (that’ll be tomorrow). Nothing breakable or valuable is going on it, which means that none of my wife’s Depression-era glass ornaments, nor none of the ones with collector value or sentimental appeal. And, we haven’t used tinsel in decades, when we realized that the cat was nomming on it.
Weren’t they stealing the Baby Jesus, over and over again?
Baby Jesus goes missing on the regular. My cats are thieves.
Jesus is running from Herod. The meezers are “helping” him.

Indeed! I know what I want for Christmas And I’ve been very, very, very good.
Those meezers should be renamed Frankincense and Myrrh.
And fingers crossed for Son-of-a-wrek!
I put up the aluminum tree inherited from my parents. The color wheel is on and doing it’s thing.
We don’t have a full set of ornaments in one color. (that used to be common with aluminum trees). We have an assortment of ornaments from our grandmothers, mother, mother-in-law, and pieces we bought early in our marriage. I love our tree this year.
