How should I pass the next hour and 45 minutes?

On Mondays I work from the time school lets out (noon) to 8pm. I work on campus as part of a student work program, so at least I don’t have to drive anywhere, but I am stuck at the same loaction for up to 12 hrs every Monday.

So now, here I am, just under 2 hrs to go, and THERE’S NOTHING TO DO.

There is no work for me here, I can’t pick up and leave because
a) a student may show up needing tech support help and
b) store_clerk_slacker has my car.

The computer I’m using has no games for me to play and I already tried playing rock-paper-scissors by myself, but it keeps ending up in a draw. I’ve lost 4 pencils and a pen throwing them up and getting them stuck in the ceiling tiles, so now I don’t even have writing utensils to draw pictures or anything. The other things I’ve had ideas to do I can’t, since this is a public place and all.

So let’s see that Doper creativity go to work with some unorthodox way to pass some time when things are slow at work.

So far, my only idea is to make chain mail out of paper clips.

I sympathize, Crunchy Frog. I’ve got 3.5 hours left at my information desk job where no one ever needs information.

For now, Bookworm is a fun online game that gets addictive. Next time, bring those books you always were meaning to read but never got around to. I bring sewing, but I don’t know if that’s your thing at all.

Things that keep you hands and brain busy are good. Chack online puzzles as well.

Great minds think alike, 27th Evil. I was going to suggest Bookworm.

Until you score 18, you have no reason to be bored

Couldn’t you do homework or read a book or something?

Hey, it gets my ADHD self through 7.5 hours of nothing…

Stand up and starting singing “I’m a Lumberjack”, with arm and leg motions. I can guarantee you that a student will drop by.

Thanks lainaf, for getting the spirit of the thread.

Pfft. Read a book? You people think I’m trying to learn here or expand my horizons? I’m at school, not doing some Nova documentary, this isn’t the place for learning!

Fuckbollockspiss…I’ve got the Lumberjack Song in my head now!!!..

Poor Crunchy!!! You’re stuck there with out anything to do…

:super duper sad face:

It’s not as bad as he’s making it out to be folks!! There are many things there he can do to entertain himself with. He has homework I’m sure, a logo to finish for a paying customer and who knows what else. He’s just bored because his ninja friend isn’t working there anymore.
There is always the racing of the chairs as a stand by.

well the one guy that works there is a bit annoying, what with all the questions and all, so I see the need for a conversation that doesn’t require repeating yourself at least 5 times…

Damn you GorillaMan! My first score - 83. I got a 10 on the 12th hole (the one with the water hazard right in the middle) and a 12 on the 15th hole.
Well, maybe this one will cure my Bookworm addiction! Off to the links!

You’re not here, you have no idea how bad it is! Besides, I’m very nearly almost close to being just about finished with that logo, so get off me! And it’s a quarter past seven, get off the computer and start getting ready to come pick me up, lady!

Actually, Jeremy’s standing right here looking over my shoulder as I type this (did you know he’s a part-time instructor now? ). A couple students did come in, but they’re just here to use the PCs, they don’t need any help right now. That leaves chair racing out of the question.

I was so pissed off at the 15th hole I thought I was going to scream!!

My first score was 83 as well. The first two holes kicked my butt, but after I got used to it I made a couple of holes in one and a few under par…unfortunately not enough to keep my score under 83! :frowning:

Well I’m off to go get the Frog!!

yeah, the 15th is a pig the first couple of times…but what I can’t work out is that they all seem to be possible to hole-in-one - except for the last. There’s no inclines, so it’s pure geometry.

I scored a 65! Woo-hoo!

I got into the high 20s once. That was a long time ago. Before my time was occupied with…ummm…y’know…well, I used to be good.
starts to feel competitive

If I read her post correctly, then you’ll get this just as your sweetie arrives, but what the heck. When I’m stuck in meetings, I plan the perfect murder. The rules are that it has to be someone you know, you have to get away completely, no getting hauled in for questioning, and you can’t do or make or buy anything you normally couldn’t. Like time machines or flying to another country to buy a gun if you couldn’t normally afford to do so.

So far, I’ve managed to kill off two people and get away with it.

Theoretically, of course.

I got a 58, with 4 or 5 holes in one.

Which one was the 15th?

 That would be the one between the 14th and the 16th.

No, no no. :smack: What did it look like?
