I’m 5’2 and used to be 5’1. Took two months of yoga and taking a bunch if vitamins to grow that much. Trying to stick to the vitamins (hate the taste)
Not at all, wouldn’t mind being taller. I was just commenting on the fact that I’m slightly taller than average, but not in a “how’s the weather up there” sort of way.
5’ 7". About.
Somewhere between 5’6" and 5’7". Tall side of average for a woman in the US.
5’10", male. Feel short in the UK, feel average in Hong Kong.
6’0" and I’m actually the tallest person in my extended family by a decent margin. I’m 2" taller than my father and at least 4" taller than my uncles and most of my male cousins (of which there are many).
Male 5’8" – about 3 inches too short for my tastes.
Me: 5’ 11" / Male
Mom: 5’ 6"
Dad: 5’ 6"
Sister: 5’
Sister: 5’6"
Grandmothers: 4’ 11" and 5’
Grandfathers: 5’ 5" and 5’ 9"
WHEW.
.
I am 5’ 3", shortest in my family.:dubious:
(Once, on an overcast Thai beach I was shooting the breeze with a young vendor, who asked me; “How big are people in Canada?” When I said, “What?” He said; “You’re not very big. You like Thai people!” I was this >< close to telling him I was, in fact, considered a giant, among other Canadian’s! Instead I told the truth, but I was very sorely tempted!)
Between 5’ 11" and 6’. My driver’s license says 6’
I’m 5’5" and I feel like I’m pretty average. Of course, if I’m surrounded by tall folks, I feel teensy. I always thought 5’7" would have been a nice height, but I don’t care enough to wear 2" heels.
I’m also 5’ 5" and don’t feel short or tall. I am shorter than my mother, who is shorter than her mother was.
5’2" I think it’s the Welsh genes. It would be handy if I worked in a mine. Which I don’t.
I have never seen anyone that tall who wasn’t quite a bit heavier, and I am fascinated trying to picture what you looked like.
Are you absolutely certain? That yields a BMI of 15.6, which is obviously underweight.
My only comparison would be myself around the same age. I was 6’7" or 6’8", and after a rather strenuous summer I weighed about 170 or 175. And I was THIN. Extremely low body fat, very little muscle mass. Nothing but skin and bones.
I can’t imagine that I had much left to lose, much less 40 pounds worth.
I used to be 5’8" but seem to be closer to 5’7" these days. That used to seem pretty tall for a woman in the US, but these days there seem to be more young women who are taller. I like being tall, but buying pants can be tricky. I don’t know why women’s pants don’t come in more precise lengths like men’s. “Average” in some brands means the hem stops short of my ankle; in other brands, it means the perfect length; in one or two brands, it means an inch too long. ARGH!
5 feet and 11 3/4 inches close enough for me to claim 6 feet.
I’m also 6’ 2", don’t recall feeling like an ogre in HK when I was there once though ![]()
Another 5’4" woman. The cabinets in my kitchen were obviously built for my taller brethren (sisteren?).
It’s the internet…so like 27’ tall.
