How the cops tried to frame my best friend for murder.

Kelly is laughing at you from beyond the grave, ya big moron! Sorry you don’t get it. I have tried to explain. I am confident that she would approve this message. Wake up and smell the coffee! Your rights are being taken away, slowly but surely, step by step, and you are too dull to even realize it. Do you think she liked the police?

Massive FAIL.

Don’t look at me, dude. I’ve somehow managed to live 38 not entirely angelic years without ever once attracting the attention of the cops.

Maybe you wouldn’t attract their attention either, if you’d stop waving your arms around and screaming LOOK AT ME!!!

You have it completely backwards. The police have attracted MY attention, as they should garner the attention of any citizen that values liberty. Go hide in your hole. Maybe there will be enough of us left out here in the free air to let you know when it is safe to come out. Thanks for all the help, coward.

Dude, the only thing that seems to attract your attention is your ever enthralling self, and the many ways in which we should all be in awe of you.

Bored now.

“Boredom” happens when the material that is presented is beyond the comprehension of the student. Now run back and hide.

If the ones telling us it’s safe are you and your ilk, we are all screwed.

The police are not scared of you.

And, again, what you did or said had no bearing on what the cops did. At all. I guarantee it.

To insist that you “threw a monkeywrench” into their plans is delusion. You’re not that important.
On a side note, I see the anniversary of your friends death was just a few months ago. My condolences on the loss, and I’m glad to hear that the family has moved on.

I was with you up until this response. What a dickheaded thing to say! Like these kats have been saying here… your story IS self-serving. Sorry for the passing of your friend’s wife, but you’re scum!

Why is everyone being such assholes in this thread?! You all should be ashamed. He gave an interesting and sad account of an incident in his life, and people piss all over him, calling him a liar, then someone posts a link verifying his story, and yet people continue the ridicule! Like “Race Harley” above, calling him “scum” and saying that the story is “self-serving.” How the fuck is it self-serving? In that it illustrates his point about the police? In that case, then anyone who gives an anecdote to illustrate a point is self-serving scum!

Stan - As a long-time Doper, I am appalled at the way people are acting in this thread. I am sorry for what you and your friend have been through. Ignore these sad pathetic trolls in this thread. Your point came across very well to me, and I agree with you. Especially the part about how the cops started asking “what gang was he in?” with no evidence of gang activity whatsoever, other than him being Latino. It’s scary.

If a man’s wife turns up dead under suspicious circumstances and he disappears for a few hours at around that time, it’s natural to consider him a suspect. Even now, I would say there’s a decent chance that Danny Cortes killed his wife and got away with it. Especially given the method of the putative suicide.

I would be interested in knowing these things: (1) Will Kelly’s mother corroborate the story that Kelly had described this method of suicide a week earlier? (2) Did Kelly ever cheat on Danny, and if so, when did he learn about it? (3) Where did Danny actually go that night and why did he feel the need to stay out the whole night? (4) Had Kelly ever tried to kill herself in the past?

Oh and one other thing. The OP says this:

Given that Kelly had “fled the celebration,” why would Danny feel any need to (apparently) leave the marital residence and spend the night somewhere else? Or am I misunderstanding the description?

He didn’t post to give an interesting and sad account of a story in his life, he posted so that he could inform us all about how:

a: cops are bad;
b: he is much smarter than the cops, or anyone else on this board;
c: his superior intellect allowed him to foil the cops when they tried to “frame” his friend (although his superior intellect doesn’t seem to understand what “frame” means;
d: he once caught three robbers single-handedly
e: he is the best driver in the world
f: if anyone fucks with him they will regret it (although there is no mention of how the cops who fucked with him here regretted it, or how any of the numerous cops that have pulled him over for driving a dirty car have regretted it)

Just because this story turned out to have a grain of truth to it doesn’t mean he’s not a liar. I would be willing to bet a year’s worth of mortgage payments on my house that this OP is full of lies, and that his other cop-bashing OP with stories about all the tickets he’s gotten is mostly lies as well.

According to hours of comprehensive research, “Boredom” happens when people are bored by that which is boring.

Well, I guess he was a really stupid asshole, huh? I mean, as you’ve said, they all are… How unbelievably rude of you to speak ill of the dead like that.

Oh, wait…

:rolleyes:

If he wished for a difference response, he wouldn’t have posted this in the Pit.

Because the OP is trolling. He is currently participating in a 2 day old thread of his complaining about the police, where he’s been arguing with everyone about what shits the police are and what an awesome driver he is.

Surprise surprise, he’s posting again about how much he hates cops, mostly because

Everyone is just giving him what he wants, lots and lots of attention.

This is my first post in this thread and I can’t decide whether to flame, apologize or be appalled.

Who says you have to choose?

I’ve long since given up on the idea of decency in the Pit. Indecency is, after all, why it was created. This is the cage where posters come to poke the bear with sticks. Listen to them crow with indignant surprise when the bear growls.

I’ve already told Stan that he doesn’t handle confrontation well. This is, perhaps, a key component in his difficulties with police: he has a tendency to become defensive and abrasive when challenged, and a tendency to strike back first (verbally, at least) if he suspects himself under attack. Any small problem which may exist with the police is, I suspect, immediately amplified.

Stan, I’m not as quick to write people off as some others on the board, but if you might consider a recommendation, the BBQ Pit is not a place for commiserating with others about your troubles. The denizens here too often gear up for gladiatoral combat before bothering to check which side they’re on.

My brother applied to be an Irish cop once.

Ahhh, your Gram was a judge. That explains so many things.

So you what, shit all over your friends? Why is this not surprising?
