No the pictures are not labeled on the album pages. She would have written on the back of the picture. And that’s something else she could do, if she comes across a picture with no labeling, she can do it as she’s removing them. She has lots of spare time.
When my dad passed, his widow shipped me his ‘big box of photos’ - very familiar from my childhood, as we’d groan when he brought it out and set up the slide projector during cousin visits. We’d always rebel long before he got to the bottom of the box…where I found a daguerreotype of a young man the spitting image of my brother, panning for gold. I inquired about having it professionally cleaned and the case restored - the pros suggested I might like to settle for a high-resolution scan and a surprisingly generous offer from a museum. It very nearly got thrown away un-noticed.
Well, I’d they were primarily rationing because they wanted more exports and to acquire more dollars, not because of a lack of supply - except where controlling ingredients/materials/production that wouldn’t let producers produce what they wanted to increase supply (again because they wanted to export said things for dollars).
