How to connect a SCSI2 device to a modern Mac?

I have some data on magneto-optical disks that were originally used with an external SCSI2 drive reader, maybe 10 years ago. I discovered today I need some data off of them - what’s the best way to do connect the drive reader to a modern Mac (PCI Express / Expresscard / USB / Firewire / etc.)?

Probably the fastest and easiest thing to do is to find an older Mac that has a SCSI interface and use that. I keep a “Wallstreet” laptop around just for such contingencies. If you really want to buy a card, something like this would work, but it’s sort of pricey.
