What is a good way to find out what type blood you are? I guess I could go to the doctor and ask, but I hate to spend money and waste his time. I don’t HAVE to know. I’d just like to.
I can’t donate blood. So what options are there? Home Tests?

Donate blood. It doesn’t cost a thing and they will test your blood for the blood type if you don’t know it.
If you can get a small quantity of A and B type antigens, you can test it yourself. You’ll need two drops of your own blood on a sterile slide. Mix a drop of the A antigen with one blood drop, and a drop of B with the other. If coagulation occurs with the A but not the B, you are B type, the opposite is A type. If coagulation occurs with both you are AB, and if none with either, you are O.
Of course it’s probably cheaper to get a doc to do it.
Keep an eye out for a health fair in your area: a lot of them will have booths with mini-tests (blood pressure, weight, lung capacity, blood typing, etc.). You could luck out and find one that does the blood typing, or you may not. It’s not one that I’ve seen often… but you’ll get good swag anyway.

I learned my blood type in high school biology class, so I’d imagine that there’s probably a home test. Maybe you could check a medical supply store?
IIRC, the test had 3 or four 4 vials of liquid, and you put a drop of blood in each. One vial would make the blood congeal if it had the A factor, and another would make the blood congeal if it had the B factor. If it congealed in both, you were type AB. If neither, you were O. Another vial or two determined positive or negative.
I tested as O+, but I didn’t really trust the school test, so when I first donated blood, I said that I didn’t know my blood type and let them figure it out.
Sure enough, when I got the little card in the mail it said that I was O+
buy some A antigens, B antigens, and Rh antigens. Then test your blood.
People who believe that your blood type dictates what you should eat sell kits for a few dollars. Nutramerica have one for $6.49.
You could join the Army.
