How to get an autographed picture of Dr. Horrible

I was sitting there with my daughter watching Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and without thinking much of it, I told her that I went to school with him. (I went to the same high school as Neil Patrick Harris and we were in a school play together. He was Lazar Wolf and I was generic 12-year-old jewish boy (all us female altos were).) So now my daughter thinks I went to school with Dr. Horrible.

I think it would be fun to get an autographed picture of Dr. Horrible signed by Neil Patrick Harris, but my google-fu is weak and I can’t seem to find anywhere to get one. I know I could go to some con that he was going to be at, but that kind of travel is a bit much. I just don’t even know where to find something like this.

Any suggestions?

Ask him on twitter? He’s quite prolific there, and at least you’re not someone completely random asking for an autograph.

Twitter may work for you but I wouldn’t even mention the High School angle (maybe after he agrees but not before), I would play up the “My Daughter wants it” angle. To me, saying “We go way back” would put me on the defensive.

Yeah, I know the whole “we went to high school together” can easily sound like “and I remember the day you looked at me!!!” High creepy factor. Besides, there’s at least a thousand people that can say the same thing.

Trying to remember…was it La Cueva in Albuquerque? A girl who went to high school with him and I went to the same summer program at college here, after our senior years, and she showed me her yearbook with his picture in it…think it was La Cueva, but it’s been years.

We’re the same age. And we looked alike. Everyone, even complete strangers, called me Doogie in high school.

If you can’t get an autograph through the mail, I guess you’ll have to wait til he doesn’t something genre again and catch him at the convention.

Yep, that’s the one. He would only be there for half the year due to the shooting schedule, but there would always be a buzz around when he came back.
