Who do you have autographed pictures of?

I wrote to Brian Prothero and Paul Williams (my two 1970s music heroes!) and got signed headshots from both.

Who do you have?

No pictures, but my Foo Fighters There is Nothing Left to Lose cd is autographed by the band. Nothing special, I went to the album signing thing with about 1000 other people.

Jerry Jeff Walker

(although it’s not really a picture, but a poster that includes his picture)

And that’s it!

I have a picture of Brian Downey (from the show Lexx) that he signed for me. He’s a real sweetie.
I also have a picture of Lou Ferrigno that he signed at Dragoncon. He said I was a pretty girl blush.

I had one of James Doohan, met him in person at a bookstore appearance back in '86 or so. Got one for myself and my sister. Lost mine, my sister still has hers. Dammit.

Bruce Forsyth! I’m so proud.

Doug Wilson (from Trading Spaces). leenmi bought his coffee for him at O’Hare a few months ago and Doug thanked him with a headshot signed ‘leenmi and foxymoron* Thanks for the coffee!’
*only with our real first names, of course.

Brian Regan, a comendian we introduced to a whole buttload of people. Zette sent us a signed pic from him as part of our wedding gift.

(in other things, I have the Slang CD signed by all the current members of Def Leppard; and Seven Mary Three’s debut albm signed by the pretty much unknown at the time band.)

Drew Barrymore

David Attenborough

Jon Pertwee, the 3rd(?) Dr. Who. A delightful man.

Victor Borge. When he was coming to the city where I used to live, back in the late '80s, I called his management to see if it was possible to have him autograph my 78 RPM set of his first album (1942). So my mom and I got to go backstage and meet him after the show. He posed for pictures with both of us, and signed his album, and gave us a signed publicity photo. He was a very funny, very nice man.

I’ve taken A TON of pictures of celebrities, some of them just alone in the pic and others with me in with them. But I’ve never been one to get autographs. I think I got a few from famous baseball players when I was a teenager (and wanted to be a sports photographer–a girl can dream! lol!), but I’ve gotten away from that and just prefer to get a pic of them or with them.

Does anyone who collects autographs find that they have any value at any point in time, other than sentimental (or whatever you’d characterize it as) to you? Just wondering.

George Carlin played my college in the mid-80s. I had a copy of his firts album “Take-offs and Put-Ons”, and friends on the activities board. He signed it for me.

Unfortunately, he sucked that night, and I always wonder if my forcing him to confront his comedy past didn’t throw him off.

Bruce Campell.

A signed single from Neil Finn, somewhere. With my name on it and everything. And two from John Wesley Harding.

Harry Chapin, Marcel Marceau, Patrick Stewart, John de Lancie

We have more autographed books than photos.

I met John Inman at a bookstore appearance, though I have lost his autographed picture.

i have two guitars signed by jay farrar – real nice guy, and fantastic songwriter

Lord Dunsany, Fifty-One Tales, second edition October 1916, autographed on the frontispiece.

I wasn’t there at the time, but  anyway!
