We experience a similar sounding sort of infestation each fall. They make bike riding miserable, as you end up covered in the damn things, especially if you’ve worn a light colour or yellow. Ours are flying aphids, so if you live in northern North America (I’m in Alberta), perhaps yours are, too.
Hey, Musicat, what’s the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
Ohh, yes. Based on the images I got from searching on those it’s either flying aphids or fungus gnats, but the timing makes aphids more likely.
Thanks, maybe I can find a solution that doesn’t require deforestation of most of my yard.
My mom found one of these at a yard sale for $10. She gave it to me because I have a pretty bad skeeter problem (along with moths and every other bug that flies into the holes that my damn dogs keep putting in my screens).
It works incredibly well. I haven’t had a new bug bite in the 2 weeks since she gave it to me and the amount of bug corpses in the tray when I go to clean it is pretty disturbing (and disgusting). There were all kinds of bugs in there, including a layer of itty bitty little gnat-looking bodies.
