A little late to the party here, but I think I’ve seen two pilcrows used to abbreviate multiple paragraphs (i.e. ¶¶ 10–14.) Similarly, the section symbol § is occasionally doubled as a notation for multiple sections (i.e., "read §§ 1.3–5 before tomorrow’s lecture.)
