How to participate in SDMB-related chat?

Hi, all.

I’m fairly new here. Sorry if I’m asking something that’s been asked before. I didn’t find anything via a search of the boards.

In this thread (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=52632) and several others, the posters have mentioned speaking via chat.

I don’t see a chat board as an option on the SDMB pages though.

Is there a particular chat service or engine that dopers are using?
