I have a walmart special leather bag that I have carried over three continents, but a cat (male) recently peed on it. What can I do to remove the smell from the bag. I have been trying to soak the bag in water, but success has not been good.

I Wish You Good Luck! 2 years ago my wife’s cat peed on her car seat while on the way to visit the Vet. We have tried everything we can find and it is better, but on hot summer days you can still smell it when you get in the car. 
I’ve read that white vinegar works really well for getting rid of cat piss odor but I haven’t personally tried it…
