How to remove Kazaa Lite from my computer

I finally managed to convince my brother that Kazaa Lite is EVIL and needed to be removed from the computer. He used its uninstall program today, but there are still many Kazaa files (even entire folders) swimming around in my machine.

I want to get rid of all traces of this program in order to completely exorcise this demon from my computer but I’m not sure how to proceed.

I’m running Windows 98. I have run Spybot, AdAware, and SpySweeper, in hopes of snagging rogue files, but they didn’t find anything. I could just delete everything that says “Kazaa”, but I’m thinking there are tons of other files related to Kazaa with names I’d never recognize.

How can I kill Kazaa completely, once and for all?

Isn’t the whole point of Kazaa Lite that it doesn’t include the spyware that’s in the regular Kazaa?

I’d say run the uninstaller, delete C:\Program Files\Kazaa Lite, delete the Kazaa registry keys under HKLM\Software and HKCU\Software, and you’re done.

      • Kazaa lite doesn’t have any files and folders around everywhere, the only folder concerning it that is not in the program filder is a file named “hosts” that is located (in Win98) in the C:\Windows\ directory.
  • Unless you somehow got a farked version, Kazaa lite has no spyware in it–that was the whole point of it.

Download Kazaabegone, it will remove all versions of Kazaa along with all related files & programs.
