How to scare the shit out of your 6-yr-old son.

My uncle has always had a full on beard and mustache. Back when I was a kid, it was a mega-pornstache. I remember when I was sleeping over once, he came out of the bathroom with a fully shaved face. My cousins and I, aged 8-5, proceeded to laugh our asses off.

Funny, I shaved mine off just this morning. Kids are 3 and 2, and they stared at me for a good 2 minutes. Of course, I didn’t have it for much more than a month.
When shaving off a beard, it’s always fun to walk around the house for about 30 minutes with just the Porn 'stache. My wife almost needed CPR she was laughing so hard.

My dad wore a full beard for most of his life after my birth, but he did shave it all off maybe once a decade. One time was when my nephew was about five years old, and Dad told him he was Grandpa’s brother, Uncle Fred. Boy, was my nephew scandalized when he saw Uncle Fred kissing Grandma.

My oldest brother stopped shaving when he graduated high school in 1971, and hadn’t been clean-shaven since. This is him in October when he started soliciting donations for the Movember Foundation (scroll to first pic). Here’s what he looked like when he hit his donations target (scroll to “A Very New Me”).

Johnny L.A. for the win, once again!

Best wishes

I’ve had a full beard for my kid’s whole life. When she was an infant and toddler, she would quickly warm up to any guy with a beard, and didn’t much care about any of our female friends or beardless male friends. I was the stay at home parent for the first two years, so I think that must have imprinted strongly on her.
