Anybody else notice… Did the cop have an accent? I could have sworn that I detected an accent of some sort, South African English or Australian? Perhaps a Germanic or Slavic accent?
The crackdown mandate and volumes of injury/death are mentioned in most of the articles I’ve read on this (hint). Even if I did bother to tell you what the volumes are, what level would be acceptable to *you *for a crackdown?
Also, just because there are major crimes and minor crimes occurring (everywhere!) doesn’t mean minor crime doesn’t need or deserve attention.

I could almost understand this being some redneck or yuppie privileged teen, but a black girl? :eek: Didn’t her parents teach her that if you even act like you may be resisting arrest you’re liable to get shot 50 times in the chest? Her friend too. They’re lucky not to be Darwin Award winners.

No, it means it deserves less attention. It’d be interesting to know if any more serious crime occured in that neighborhood, during the time it took to get everything under some semblance of control.

Would you also encourage her to mouth off to a cop, to push one if she felt like it? To resist arrest.
And if a cop is told to watch a particular section where jaywalking has been a problem he was only doing his job. If someone gives him a hard time or decides to completely ignore his authority and just walk away while he’s issuing a ticket the officer has to respond. The girls escalated the situation to violence not the officer.
I’ll ask you the same question gonzo hasn’t answered. After being assaulted how would you recommend the officer respond?

Follow the fucking law, and don’t fuck with the goddamn cop when he’s arresting you for committing a crime.
Those girls got off damn easy, almost as though this were a good cop using the minimum of force necessary to accomplish his job.
