How to throw a party! - A 12-step MMP

White chocolate chip macadamia nut? dives in the tub

One of my co-workers bought me a chai while I was on the desk. I owe her one.

Minutes of the last Booster Club meeting are typed up and printed out to take to the meeting tonight. I hate taking minutes. I am tired of these meetings. Only a few more months till I am no longer on the Executive Board.

Litter boxes are cleaned and laundry is progressing in stages. Lunch (country fried steak, mashed N.O.T. and gravy, lima beans and fried corn) has been consumed. It’s almost time to go get ready for the blasted meeting.

Save some space in the tub for me, I’ll be back later.

exits stage left, dripping

I have spent the last day and a half babysitting my out of town boss. Next week I have 8 out of town visitors comign to do an audit on the district.

There are not enough  in the world to express how thrilled I am about all the visitors.

Y’all are weird…hot tub indeed

Thanks Tagfree! So glad I keep a sleeping bag under there for emergencies like these.

(no really… I do… it’s a long and pointless story I’ll happily share someday)

I have coffee and assorted sweets leftover from the meeting if anyone feels like coming to Toronto to help themselves. Sorry, no budget left to courier them out elsewhere. I’m not sharing the leftover pop either… those are all mine.

:dives under desk for a quickie snooze:

I do NOT want to return this lady’s call, I guarantee it will be at least a 30 minute call, and I’ll repeat myself 5 times a minute.
Because she is the Queen of Stupid.

My baby is in Merrylande, and she should be here within an hour. YAY!

I didn’t see the eclipse because I was pooped, but I’ve seen one before - way cool! I even saw it thru a telescope - impressive.

I miss my hot tub. We had one years ago, and we intend to get another, but first we need to build a deck for it. It’s on the list of things to be done before we retire…

Lessee, what else?? Not much. I cleaned the guest bath and made up the guest room. I should probably take a chair in there or something. We shall see. I also got out some sketty sauce to thaw - that’ll be supper tonight. Teriyaki pork roast in the rotisserie for tomorrow. Mebbe we’ll take the kid out on Sat.

Tonight and tomorrow promise evil weather - freezing rain and sleet - at least in DC. I don’t know how far to the south and east it’ll extend. It worries me just a bit. My darling daughter has never driven on nasty winter roads. She got her license in Florida and has done most of her driving there. Well, she’s gotta learn some time. Altho, she’ll be using my car tomorrow. Hmmmm…

Time to feed the critters.

I’m offering up my services. I’m a lovely repeater.
Now.
We.
Know.

Are you following me?

How.
Now.

Any questions?
ETA:
Moom, Yay!

Sounds like someone is volunteering to host a future MMP…

Nah, it’s not really all that interesting. Honest.

Baby on lap, thrashing. No coding.

I’m bored!!!
Is anybody in the hot tub? Or did they get all shrinkled and blow away? I need more cookies, too. This is the longest day EVAHHHH!!!

ETA! First on 8!!! Yay!

(And another yay for your baby coming home, Mom.)

I’ve been having a lousy week. Actually, 2008 has really sucked so far. The only good news I’ve gotten is my mid-year review today, in which I am exceeding expectations. Considering all the crap that’s been going on, that was unexpected.

We’ve determined that it is definitely all the work that I’ve been doing on the hoarding that’s triggering everything. It’s a nasty Catch-22: don’t work on it and be miserable or work on it and be miserable. Yay. So I’m going to keep working on it and hope that things start to get better soon. And of course, now I know why they kept hoping to find that I’m bipolar. Bipolar is a lot easier to treat and manage.

Enough of that. The Stitches market opens tonight. Woo hoo! I went to the bank and got cash today. It’s easier to keep within a budget when I’m spending cash instead of plastic. I had planned to buy some laceweight for the knitting retreat in June, but I found out yesterday that the retreat’s been cancelled. So, I’m not really sure what I’m going to buy. Cashmere and middle and heavy weight sock yarn and maybe enough for a sweater? I have all weekend to decide.

And what makes you think the MMP has to be interesting? It just has to be started. Then it takes on a life of its own. That’s the beauty of the MMP.

Chores done - waiting for my fambly - any minute now…

**Rebo ** - I’ve been meaning to ask you - I’m assuming you use CAD to do your design work. What program do you use?

Yes, we use Pro/Engineer. It’s a 3d modeling program.

I think that’s the one my husband is trying to learn. He’s used AutoCAD products most of his career, and the transition is kicking his butt. But NASA uses ProE, so he has to adapt.

It’s a bitch to learn, but once you do… I’ve been using it for 13 years or so. Feel free to tell him to email me if I can help!

EEE! lovely baby pics, both HRH and Gnat! Squee, thanks both Dotty and LiLi. BTW, I love the bunny hat!!!

Happy Thursday, woo hoo! I’ve already put in my leave slip for tomorrow, so unless there is absolutely nothing on the ground, I will not be going in. I am going to see what the most recent forecast is, though.

Well, it’s pretty official–my boss is leaving, probably in mid-March. It just wasn’t a comfortable fit for him in our office, and the new job will be doing pretty much the type of work he likes to do, so good for him. Our office is probably going to be topsy turvy for a while, unfortunately - we’re already down two slots, and whoever gets to “act” as boss will have to do that, and their own work too. Will not be happy times, but oh well.

I’m also a bit down because NBC cancelled my favorite show, Las Vegas. Yes, that was my guilty pleasure! I may even pen a letter to TPTB at NBC about it, although I doubt it will do much good other than to let me vent my spleen at them, so to speak. LOL Damn it, how can they cancel a show with Tom Selleck in it?! I ask you!

Well, at least tomorrow is Firday.

herbs they cancelled Las Vegas??..it was my guily pleasure as well

Cute baby pics LiLi and Dots. I like the bunny hat and I think HRH is adorable when she is resting her head on her right hand - looks deep in thought

Sketties have been et, life is good. My baby is home!

I took her down to my studio to show her some of my latest works, only to discover a kitteh in there. Behind a locked door. He apparently hopped over the wall from the workshop, and he knocked some of my tools off the shelf. He’s always getting into something.

We’re a bit antsy about tomorrow’s weather. I need to remember to call around 5 to see if we get a late start. The kid is worried that the weather will cancel her interview. Here’s hoping the forecasts are all overblown.
