Closest to that would be the Brand New Day reboot for Spidey, and that was just as bad as any other convoluted event storyline.
No, it wasn’t. One of the big two problems with OND/BND was that they didn’t just render the previous plot discanon by authorial fiat, they had Spider-Man sell his marriage to the devil to do it.
The other problem was that Quesada was being a douchebag and wanted to retcon something that shouldn’t have been retconned.
I didn’t say it was a perfect fit, just it’s about as close as you’ll find for an “in continuity” story.
Actually, while Steve Rogers is back, he is not currently Captain America. He left Bucky with that job and went off to run SHIELD. Bucky is a much cooler Cap IMHO.
I read the first response and thought, “No, that’s Bruce Wayne”, not having read CA’s revival. Now I’m glad I didn’t. Icebergs would have been better. Note to comic book companies - stop killing off characters when planning to bring them back even before they are dead. Note to comic book buyers - stop buying the shit because as long as you do, they’ll keep killing them off and bringing them back under even more idiotic premises.
