Calling her a “DEI hire” is particularly stupid. She’s never been “hired” (at least, since being appointed to some commission or other, 30 years ago). She keeps winning elections.
But you can’t fight Stupid with Facts.
You know, the intended audience knows, everyone knows that the meaning of that phrase has nothing to do with its literal meaning. It is the exclusively the way to say “uppity” fill in the blank without literally saying it, which would be stupid.
For some reason, MAGA thinks that Harris laughs weird.
I would counter that with a video saying “let’s compare the laughs of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
“First… Harris… (with a video clip.)
“Next: (black)
“Sorry… There are no known recordings of Donald Trump laughing”

In a viral video, Harris appears to say, “Today is today. And yesterday was today yesterday.” But the video is fake and was created using doctored audio.
When Vice President Kamala Harris was the attorney general of California in 2014, she announced a program to help young people transitioning out of the criminal justice system. She glibly referred to the 18-24 age group as “stupid,” saying people that age “make really bad decisions.” But social media posts have taken her words out of context.
From today’s Borowitz Report:
Kamala Harris campaign ad shared by Elon Musk is not real
Elon Musk shared a manipulated parody video of a Kamala Harris campaign ad that uses generative AI to mimic the vice president’s voice.
Donald Trump stated on July 24, 2024 in a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina:
Kamala Harris “supported abolishing ICE (mostly false)

Lots of lies.
There will be lies and more lies.
That is an advantage of the brief campaign and the importance of maintaining possession of the news cycles as much as possible: less time for the lies to get air time. Refuting the lies with facts is less effective with the lower information voters than crowding them out with other news.
It is also benificial that Kamala can respond to these lies in real time (something Joe wasn’t that effective at). And it helps that her support team getting a lot of air time. Pete Buttogieg is an excellant point man for getting on shows and taking down the lies that are being spewed.
And this is the whole point of this thread. Lies work best when they’ve been repeated for so long, that lots of people have heard them, and they just become part of the background noise of their lives. You can’t rebut every instance of a particular lie for years on end. Is 100 days enough time to produce that effect?
I hope not.
Trump thinks that Kamala won’t be good at international relations because of how she looks. I could be wrong, but hasn’t she already done a large amount of traveling as VP?
Yeah. This is yet another doomed-to-failure attack strategy. (In that it will be believed mainly by people who were never going to vote for any Democrat anyway.)
Of course what Trump is trying to say with that “looks” remark, without outright saying ‘women are inferior,’ is that women are inferior.
His fans love that, but the strategy won’t win over moderates and independents.
The Trump campaign is hoping it will win some moderates and independents. Both of those groups are filled with nontrivial amounts of racists and sexists. Moderates and independents aren’t exactly the free thinkers they like to claim to be.
But are there enough willing to vote Trump or get demotivated enough not to vote for Harris? That’s the question.
From The Independent:
A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign later denied that he was referring to Harris’ gender or race, instead slamming the Democratic presidential candidate as “weak, dishonest and dangerously liberal” in a statement to The Washington Post.
Yeah, like you can see weak, dishonest, and dangerously liberal just be looking at her.
That one is probably a sloppy repurposing of an attack on Biden appearing weak. I can’t wait until Trump comments on Harris’s son, Hunter.
ETA: Here’s another example:
“Trump just said Kamala Harris can’t pass a cognitive exam.”
Today, Trump lost his shit while speaking to the National Association of Black Journalists, a group who had invited both presidential candidates to speak with them*.
He began the Q&A attacking the “nasty” reporters and the “fake news”.
But he made sure to insult Harris, questioning when she decided to become black (the same race as her father, you know).
He also said she was the worst border czar in the history of the world, and other really weird (there’s that word again) things.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/31/trump-black-voters-nabj-harris/
So this is how they are going to demonize Harris.
With batshit lunacy, clothed in angry old man anger.
*Harris had a scheduling conflict, and the association turned down her offer to appear virtually.
ETA: Just realized this generated its own thread with over 100 posts.
And afterward, he posted on Truth Social, “The questions were Rude and Nasty, often in the form of a statement, but we CRUSHED IT!”
Yeah, I posted in the thread about the event something that Trump claimed at the event, but my post was lost in a gullywash of ridiculousness. Too bad what happened to that thread.
I can’t believe Trump agreed to this event, given that he doesn’t like (1) interviews, (2) black peoples and (3) journalists. Whoever proposed this is probably in deep shit right now.
Incredible that Trump claimed Harris only recently identified as black. She went to Howard University, for gods sake. HBCU doesn’t stand for Historically Bi-racial.
