I could see Trump walking into a room full of (any group who doesn’t automatically favor him) and telling them off when they don’t cheer his every word. See also the Libertarians who got similar treatment although minus the racism since most of them were white. Being an asshole gets him back into the headlines for a day and this is one currency he has an infinite supply of.
I think trying to “other” Kamala Harris by saying she decided to be black is some weaksauce and won’t have nearly the impact he thinks it will. Trump is that guy who stays up all night thinking of a devastating insult and then has no idea what to do when he throws it at his opponent and they don’t immediately disintegrate. Harris has faced racism and sexism before. Since she was a prosecutor she’s probably been threatened before. Trump can call her anything he wants but ultimately she’s just going to make his worst nightmare come true when she just laughs at him in response.
They have all of the age stuff they prepared when Joe Biden was the nominee. It just has to be repackaged.

I’d actually have a modicum of respect for whoever actually tried that 
And this sloppy repackaging is what happens when your entire campaign is focused on hating a single person instead of telling us what you plan for your presidency.
As I like to say, tell me why I should vote for you, not why I shouldn’t vote for the other person.
The problem is that the way they have been demonizing Harris for the last four years can’t be said by Trump out loud. Even he knows that. He will say a few “I’ve heard people say” but he’s not going to say outright that she is a whore. But they certainly had no problem placing people with “Joe and the Hoe gotta Goe” t-shirts right behind Trump and on camera.
Well, seeing the messaging since Trump visited the National Association of Black Journalists Convention, it’s clear their main line of attack, at least for now, will be “She ain’t Black!”
Here in SE Michigan, it seemed like barely 24 hours after Biden stepped down, they started hammering a constant barrage of attack ads claiming Harris is soft on the border, with ridiculously exaggerated fearmongering and outright lies.
First they play a clip of her saying ‘the border is…secure’ in an uncertain or unconvincing tone from some past interview.
Then they go into illegal immigrants are murdering Americans! (complete with mug shots of scary-looking young brown men). Cartels are poisoning our children! Illegals are getting money from the government, hurting good American taxpaying citizens!
It’s so blatant and cartoonishly over the top, it almost seems like parody. But it will be effective on some, I’m sure.
I just had a crazy thought. It may not work and could even backfire, but what if Kamala made an effort to publicly make friends with Usha Vance. They have so much in common, both being in the legal profession and all.
I feel it likely will be most effective on those already inclined to vote for DJT.
The problem I think the MAGAts will run up against in general is that there are a good number of people out there who are persuadable and are exhausted by Trump and his rhetoric. They were likely turned off as well by the Biden/Trump contest being a rerun of 2020.
They are also likely to be turned off by the negativity and hate DJT spews and will not respond well to the efforts to demonize Harris. I think they are more likely to respond to hope and positive plans for the country going forward which is largely what we are seeing from the Democrats.
For these reasons I am anticipating a decent bump coming post-convention for Harris that could well carry us to the election.
I hope you’re right. I’m afraid border fear-mongering and painting Harris as soft on secure borders is the best tool they have in swaying just enough of the remaining small margin of Mr. and Mrs. suburban low-info independent voter to vote for trump, because OMG cartels and ISIS are streaming over the border murdering our children left and right! Also the liberal Democrats are handing them piles of taxpayer money!!
That is not going to be anywhere near the main line of attack. They will continue to try and drive a wedge into black voters but that’s a sideshow. The main line of attack is she’s a crazy dumb liberal who is bad and sucks. Other side attacks will be she is weak (woman). Dishonest (pretends to be black). And didn’t earn her spot (DEI hoe that slept her way to the top). The main attack will be upfront and repeated at every opportunity. The other attacks will be implied or direct through bots and operatives.
They love that issue- since the MAGA totally made it up. There is no real crisis at the border, except the ones the GOP has made themselves.

I’m glad you wrote this, because it’s a thought that has been percolating in my head for the last several days.
The most stark feature, to me, of Trump’s support in 2016 was that no supporter could explain their position without mentioning Clinton. To be a Trump lover was to be a Hillary hater.
And Trump spent 4 years of his presidency trying to plant dirt against Joe Biden, who he (correctly) predicted would be his opponent.
And thus far in this election his entire campaign for president has been based on demonizing Biden.
Underlying this is the basic fact that Trump has no governing principles, and that those working with him have policies wholly odious to the American people.
So that’s why he’s so apoplectic about Kamala Harris. He’s got 3 months to try to conduct a smear campaign that’s supposed to have been years in the making.
What does he have? He’s demonizing her appearance, and lying about her record. I don’t expect any October surprise, so this is as good as it gets.
How can she simultaneously be “not really Black” AND a “DEI hire”?
