Opinion seems to shift up and down and all over the place as the Trump presidency has gone on, but it is trending harder and harder in the direction that “Trump will be removed from office against his will” these days.
So - regardless of your opinion of him - what’s your prediction for how his presidency ends?
Lol. “Regardless of your opinion of him”.
(Edit/note): If Trump is defeated in the 2020 election, that falls under category 1#.
You left off “refuses to honor the results of the election/impeachment, and has to be removed from the White House, all the while calling for his faithful to riot.” Though I suppose that might be covered under “Other Answer”
That’s my guess, at this point.
So, “loses in 2020” isn’t an option. That’s an “other answer”?
As the shit hits the fan, Putin (and perhaps other despots) realize that Trump is more of a liability than an asset and is disposed of by a mysterious malady, perhaps delivered by the Umbrella Vector.
In what world is Trump not anything but an asset for Putin?
Boris Yeltsin on the Potomac is good for Russia.
I think he’ll beat the impeachment and stay in office. No President has ever been removed from office and Trump has the Senate and Supreme Court covering for him.
But I predict he’ll lose the 2020 election. I won’t call it a sure thing though. I’m confident he’ll lose the general election again but he might end up winning the EC vote.
Trump is serving Russian interests just by being an incompetent President. American weakness helps Russia.
Loathe Trump. I think there’s a 50/50 chance he loses the upcoming election. I don’t think he’ll be removed from office. The Republicans have no honor and no love of country. Deep down I think they, and a significant number of their supporters (probably about 10-20% of Americans), want the Democrats to be outlawed and for the country to be a single-party authoritarian state so that they can loot it without any resistance at all (not that there’s that much resistance right now). If he serves another term, then I think there’s a small but significant chance he dies in office. Voted #1.
And don’t forget the entertainment factor for Putin. ROFLhisAO
I believe that he will resign with a pardon deal from Pence.
ETA: I believe that as the election approaches, he will become convinced that his odds are better resigning and taking a pardon than losing and facing trying to pardon himself.
Heart says he dies in office from an overdose of hamberders.
Head says he survives impeachment but loses the 2020 election.
I voted for die because I want to be right.
Some say his Presidency will end in fire,
some say in ice.
I think it will end in one last loud, angry, but pathetic rant as the men in the white coats come to take him away after his Cabinet finally invokes the 25th Amendment.
(Actually, I have no idea.)
He will be given the choice of being the second president to resign or the first to be removed from office by impeachment.
I think he will resign when the rats who’ve deserted his ship confront him with this offer.
I have no fucking idea. We are way out past the bounds of historical precedent or rational assumption. Who could have predicted that we’d be where we are now?
At this point I’m half expecting the 2020 election to be heavily hacked, Trump to “win” or otherwise stay on with the ongoing support of the Senate then become increasingly deranged and eventually “step down for health reasons” or die in office from being fat and stupid, and the nation will continue its slide into irrelevance, discord and ruin.
See Post #3.
I’ve been saying for years that Trump will leave the presidency before the end of this term. How that happens is a lottery. I can concoct a dozen scenarios but prediction is futile in this mad world.
This. My thoughts exactly. I voted “other”
Does “Trump leaves on his own terms after serving either four or eight years in office, like normal presidents” include being voted out and needing to be removed from office anyway?
